It is not a compatibility issue as I have the same modem running on similar motherboards and OS. Going to try uninstalling and reinstalling the dial up adapter.

Win98 OS. Put old modem back in, uninstalled it. Also ran system file checker and found some corrupt files which I restored. Computer boots just fine with old modem and with no modem but I still get blue screen fatal exception error (0D at 0028:0000000B) when it starts to install the driver...

I removed it from the machine and it no longer registered in the device manager. Is there another way that the old needs to be uninstalled?
