    Thanks for the help but I think I figured it out. The new MB works - the old one had a memory resource problem or something. The hard drive - the new one, however, was defective - go figure. This has been a really horrible experience that I hope nobody ever has to go through. Later n8

    I have the 7dxr. Its a jumper next to the raid IDE ports. Put it in the off position. Look to manual for more - if you dont have a copy you can download one at www.gigabyte.com.tw
