I have not setup a ISDN line for some time and even then it was for data.
Since I now have my Legend up and running at home it's time to dump the two 1MB lines and bring in a ISDN BRI. Reason, there is no way I'm going to pay $7 a line for caller-ID. The cost of one BRI is just about the same...
I've got a 391C1 power supply that's audibly noisy. I've run into this with other switching power supplies and the cause is usually windings in the switching transformer that have gotten loose and vibrate.
I've fixed this before but only on supplies that we build at a computer company I used...
I have a Merlin II with a Legend R2 processor soon to be a R7V12 processor. Are there any issues using the Merlin II carrier or should I upgraded it to a 511A carrier? Already working on adding a 391C1 power supply.
Since some printer drivers can cause the layout to shift somewhat pick a printer and let the users know to use that printer. That way they don't have to play with the settings.
SMDR monitor was nice when you need to remote monitor the SMDR.
I agree that holding back on some features is overkill but it's their game and their rules. When I got the password to the monitor function I had to promise that I would NEVER give it out. That a promise I keep even now.
I...
I always used XL to make my labels. My users loved the color coding some of which would even ask for custom colors. I finally put the XL file on our network so they could create their own and add their own numbers for their auto-dials.
Most of "Monitor" commands are not real useful for other than the engineers and could get you into real trouble if you used them.
There are a couple of the commands however that would be very useful for them to move into maintenance mode. One of them is SMDR logging.
That's all I'm...
I used to have a fairly complete list of the Legend mode codes for VMI but it's been a few years and I have no idea where they went. Does anyone else happen to have created or has such a list?
Ya I know. I have about 25 to 30 stations of ATL phones along with the 4 408 cards to drive them. The system used to be a Merlin II that I put a R2 processor card in from a Merlin Legend when we upgraded it to R4. At that time I was a beta site for the first T1 PRI that was ever released on a...
I know that you can put Magic modules in a Legend carrier by adding a clamshell but can you go the other way and put Legend modules in a Magic carrier?
I've been playing with the switch this afternoon and I do think that key mode with common personal lines is the better way to go.
It makes it easier to just put a call on hold and go to another extension and pick it up.
Doing a three way call is much easier as well. Now there are times when...
I'm used to setting up PBS/Hybred mode but not key mode. I using the system at home but the family does not like having to do parks in order to pickup a line from anywhere in the house. In key mode I think you just have to press the line button.
They do like dialing 9 to get out on the pool...
Oh yes, and in fact it was on a real POTS line until I installed the system. I'll have to find my "Standards" book and check to see what the "standard" voltage range is but I'm betting that Panasonic test is too high. Still knowing what the open loop voltage should be on the...
