I have actually encountered this same error message, except it appears in a less friendly manner.
I'd be doing my business and then POW!! blue screen with the same IRQ error message.
Windows politely suggests buying a new video card.
I just gave up on trying to fix the problem, and figured...
I recently acquired an old Performa 6320CD, and decided to download and install WMP7, since I already converted my entire music collection to WMA to save CD space for archiving.
The installer proceeded without a hitch, and when it finished, it prompted me to reboot.
After rebooting, I...
compatability doesn't work for Red Storm games.
there was a patch for Rogue Spear that allows it to run on Windows 2000. just hope there's one for Shadow Watch. If you sting me, I won't mind.
i agree. not a lot of protocols are installed by xp setup. you have to install the protocols that you want to use. check to see if all the required protocols are installed and properly configured.

i've never been able to get Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear to run on any version of Windows NT, including 2K and XP.
anyone knows why?
also, how effective is compatability mode on games like ShadowWatch that explicitly require Win9x? If you sting me, I won't mind.
if you've had problems with this "old" drive, including noisy operation, then don't use it for backup data. i made that mistake with my MP3 Library, and i came home one evening and the disk size read "0(0(". i still don't know what that means. If you sting me, I won't mind.

can't figure out how to abort the install. i was even contemplating a reformat. i told them to discuss it amongst themselves, and they said no to the idea.
is there a way to abort the install at this stage? If you sting me, I won't mind.
i did a clean install on mine, and it works just fine. a lot more than jsut fine. but my friend's problem just got worse.

I tried that trick, and Win2K still didn't detect it. I'm really not sure what is causing this problem, but I'm just about ready to chalk it up to plain old evil.
Any other suggestions, or some links to some drivers would be more than welcome. If you sting me, I won't mind.
A friend recently upgraded his Windows 95 to Windows 2000 Professional. After that, he stopped getting sound from Windows and its applications. I tried to make him use Windows 98 until Windows XP was out but, he let the number fool him. He called me over yesterday to help him with the problem. I...
