i got 2 networks separated by a Cisco router.
Network1:
ip 10.150.30.10 to 10.150.30.80
gateway: 10.150.30.1
Subnet 255.255.254.0
Network2:
ip 10.134.30.10 to 10.134.32.254
gateway: 10.134.30.1
WINS server: 10.134.30.10
subnet 255.255.254.0
only network1 can access network2...
do not ping any thing.
1) Start the all the machines.
2) login to them as usual.
3) Start the ethereal and run it about 20 min
4) onece you finished in the log view , click on the source tab. so it will sort according to the IP address.
5) then check the destination address is a valid address...
It seems to me that your network is overload with traffic.
may its a virus sending data randamly and overloading your network.
Try to use ethereal Network Analyzer (this free)(www.ethereal.com). then you can find out with computers are sending heaps of data.
Try to do the network analyzer...
XP Home is a shocker..
1) setup the administrator account password same in 3 computers and logon to 3 computer with the administrator account.
2) make sure they are in same ip range and subnet mask.
(ex. 192.168.0.1)
3) make sure they are in same workgroup

I have a problem with one XP Pro (SP1) notebook that i can not run the Local logon script. The machine is in a workgroup. I'm tring to map few shares from a NT 4 Server.

if i connect to the server from Windows 2000 or XP it does map correctly to the user home directory.
This problem only happens when i connect from a NT 4 WK machine..

I have problem with mapping user Home Directory in NT 4. I dont use a logon script to map home directory. I set the home directory for using user manager.
ex: \\server1\homedirectory\user1
but when the user logon, It doesn’t actually map to the home directory itself. It only maps to...

I didn't installed drivers or checked if the CD-ROM is compatible with NT. I'm not sure if the CD-ROM had a driver CD. I'll try to find drivers.
If it's not compalible, how come it plays sound when i installed winamp?...

I have few machines that does not play audio cd in MS CD Player software. If i intall Winamp 3, audio cd works through winamp3.
There was no CD-ROM when NT4 was installed. The CD-Rom was added later.
I have replace mcicdo.dll. but no luck...

There is a tool called "addusers.exe" in Nt resource kit.
This tool have few options. This may help u. u can download NT Resource Kit Tools from Microsoft website.

did u check the free space on u'r server. sometimes Windows OS does not show the free space correctly. There is good software called "TreeSize Professional" to find the free and used space in u'r machines.
