Utilities <chkdsk,dfrag etc> wil not go on forever if you do make partitions. Partitions could also make backups easier as you would be backing up smaller chunks. I broke mine up as the above user suggested and usit as suggeseted. diff partitions for diff type stuff.

Problem still not solved, but I know how to work around it. Since it does not seem to have a simple answer a;nd i have a work around, it is not low priority . I'll see what it does and report back cdogg.

Turn off FAST-BOOT or something like that, so that you can see the memory count, and drive detection... QUICK POWER ON was disabled..I enabled it to see if there was an efffect-but no changes. no memory count, did see drive detection and IRQ settings. I don't like to use cable select (CS)...
