what happens when you boot into safe mode? If there is no way of backup, I am sure a reinstall of XP would work. Just don't format and that would leave all your data intact.
I don't think you will expierence a long boot. Insert the new drive and power on. The drive should automatically rebuild. Check your array manager for status.
yep, use data and voice vlans. QOS profiles would need to be set. A well config dhcp will need to be set on your network. Which networking gear will you be using?
