I encounterd a problem with my Exchange 2000 Server yesterday. Apparently it was an SMTP issue that caused the server to be down the entire day. I was able to save some emails that had not been delivered yet into a new folder that I created. Now that I have the system up and running, I do not...
I believe I fixed my problem by running the smtpreinstall.exe tool. After executing this tool, I had to reboot the server and mount the mailbox and public folder stores. Everthing seems to be working fine now.
Thanks
I recently tried to add a SMTP Virtual Server on a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server that already had an existing SMTP Virtual Server. After realizing that I didn't need the second SMTP Virtual Server, I deleted it. Unfortunately, now we can't receive external emails. The external email account...
I was also, debating on if I should obtain a CCNA and MCSA cert via self study or at a contiuning education institute like ECPI.

I have a network that consists of 4 Cisco 3550 switches running software version 12.1(19)EA1c. With the equipment that I have, I want to make sure the network is failover safe. The switches will be connected via a fiber loop using the GBIC-based Gigabit Ethernet Ports. I am doing this because...

My definition of a subnet must be wrong. So, without a routet, but with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0, a device hanging off the switch with IP address of 10.0.1.1 will be able to communicate with a device hanging off of switch 10.0.2.1?

My question is: I want to break the network up into 4 subnetworks. For example a 10.0.1.1, 10.0.2.1, 10.0.3.1, and...
Am I correct in stating that configuring an IP Address for a Catalyst 3550 Switch would be only for management purposes or if I wanted to configure more than one VLAN and would like to route information between the VLANS?
Thanks in advance for your response.
I recently copied my entire harddrive to a brand new drive using Drive Image 7 by Symantec/PowerQuest. When I installed my new cloned drive and powered up my PC, Windows booted fine. But after I press ctrl+alt+del and type in my login and password, the press ctrl+alt+del screen pops up again...
I just want to replace my current hard drive, because I think it is starting to fail. It will be on the same system. I wanted to make sure that it would copy all my files and the Windows Operating System. I didn't know if I would have to install Windows on the new hard drive prior to copying...
