Hi,
I have a router which is up and running and connecting my lan users to the Internet, however there are a couple of issues I need to resolve:
Our previous internal address range was 192.1.1.0 which I recently changed to the legal private range of 192.168.6.0. My problem is that a number of...
Thanks,
So... I can use NAT to translate addresses & permit certain internal IP ranges access to the Internet by using access lists.
What about preventing all but authorised traffic access from the Internet past the router to our LAN. In particular, I must allow connections from the ASP (for...
Hi,
I want to provide Internet access from our office network using a Cisco 1600 router. I haven't purchased the firewall feature set and was wondering if instead access lists could be configured to the job adequately. Internal users must be able to access the Internet + pick up and receive...
Hi
I've just been told that a company we have a WAN connection to is using the the private network address space 192.168.1.0/24 and I've been asked to choose another address. Is (for example) 192.168.6.x a viable private addeess to use?
Thanks
Cheers... Loopy Loo

Thanks again.

Any clarification on the following would be much appreciated...
Basically I am trying to use a Cisco 806 broadband router to provide multi-user internet access whilst also combining security features. Our ISP is providing a DSL line with modem / router - which I believe I can plug the 806 into...
Or,

Excellent, thanks for your help.
So... there's no function that is inherent in the first DC in a domain that can't be transfered to another DC at a later date?

I'm looking for ways round the following scenario:
In 4 months time our business will be installing 2 Quad Xeon spec servers (Terminal servers). The company supplying / managing these servers have said they wish one of these servers to be the 1st DC in the new 2K domain (so that it would become...
Yep, what i'll do is test the above solution (dialup + dsl remote clients connecting via VPN) as I think it should be good. If there are issues I may try moving Outlook to fuction on one of the terminal servers - so that remote users actually use the Citrix solution which will be inplace anyway...
