Hi everyone,
Wondering if someone with experience of DS8000's can offer some advice.
We have a DS8000 and have added a couple of disk trays (arrays). We have found these and created a rank for each array, we have then created an extent pool for each rank and a volume for each extent pool.
We...
Hi everyone,
Bit of a newbie question I'm afraid, hope someone can help out.
We're using telnetlib.py to telnet to a box which works fine, however for some reason local echoing is turned on by default.
Does anyone know a quick and easy way to stop this.
I've seen in the telnetlib.py a...
Hi to all,
Please excuse me as I am new to the solaris world, coming from an HP-UX/linux background.
My question which hopefully is simple for some in the know is..
On HPUX, using LVM with an disk array I can publish disks to two servers. With the shared disks in a volume group on one server...

Hi,
Happy New Year to you all.
I wonder if anyone has come across this problem or could offer some advise.
We have several databases running on the same machine (HP-UX 11.11), with both versions 8.1.7 and 9.2.0.
We have a simple script to shut down the databases for the nightly backup. However...
Does the machine have any other scsi devices attached?
Have you tried other devices attached to the scsi card that controls the library?
have you tried using another machine as the media agent?
I've experienced similar problems on our windows implementation of data protector. To solve we had to disable the removable storage service on the media agent and then remove and readd the library and drive.
Problem solved.
I have come in over the weekend so I can have some proper downtime and fix this annoying problem, one reboot later and deletion of user accounts and files and rsh once again works. Thanks too all those who helped in resolving this.
Phil

Thanks Columb,
unfortunately we're not using aliases,
its just IP <hostname>. Like I said we've had this running for years, before this problem.
I've just tried a quick test and found I can rsh fine between the application servers and from the application servers to the database. This makes me...
