I am running Netbackup 5.1. W2k3 master server with AIX 5.3 clients. What we want to do(if possible) is get NetBackup to run a stop and start database script on the various servers, rather than using crontabs, so its centralised. Does anyone know if Netbackup can run these srcipt on the client...
Hello, we are currently running NT4, but a business requirement to upgrade to XP desktop has been initiated. Is it possible to automate this, even without AD? If so how?
Heres the scneario....
I Have a 2000 DC(which is its own DNS server), 2 NIC's ,one on a 192.168 network used for backups only, one on the LAN.
In the hosts file, I have an additional entry for the second NIC (servername_bkp-192.168.1.200) But, It appears that there are 2 entries in DNS for the...
Will, when you mean all servers will be 2000 or above, you mean DC's right?I always thought 2000 and NT4 member servers can co-exist in a 2003 native mode domain, just like NT4 non DC's could exist in a 2000 AD native environment.
Is your domain in native or mixed mode? As this has a lot to do with the way you will authenticate against a domain controller, native=kerberos authentication, mixed=standard NTLM authentication.
It is possible to have a linux client accessing 2000 AD resources without being in the domain by...
Would the router even care about an IP conflict? Apart from a bit of a messed up arp cache, surely the router wouldnt care? If you are using MS DHCP there is collision detection built in (more in 2K, 2k3) to prevent IP clashes. Sorry I may be way off here. :)
Sorry, I should have clarified. I know about scopes and i know about reservations in which you can assign an address to a client, but was wasn't sure if there was a reg hack- from the client side-to make them go to a specific server. But lookin at it, its the first server to deliver the...
Hello, not an Oracle guru!!
We have a problem with clients using IE 6 (with both Sun and MS JVM) loading forms using Oracle Web Cache. If we just use the http server, with no Web Cache, its fine. Anybody know anything about this?
Thanks
I have a w2k AD domain and need to upgrade to 2003. Can someone suggest a helpful guide thats available, or a book that may be a starting point to achieve this. Thank you
Do you have the web query tool installed. If so this is a doddle. Just search for machines with a specific file, and find the name of the exe(assuming it is) in question and voila! Gives you a list of all pc's with users etc that SMS has found with the file in question.
No, different addreses are being dished out, but then no more after it. Then you release it. and another machine will pick it up, we did this in situ in the office. Those that have leases at the moment appear ok. The only thing that has changed is that the domain Admin password was changed about...
