    Periodically I will see a ( * ) on the LCD display after a callers name. The caller is local with in the same PBX and calls me via a 4-digit extension. Has anyone seen this or knows what the ( * ) represents? I have seen this with networked PRI type calls, but this is local within the switch.

    The ring option is programmed at the telephone set, You need PBX administration rights to view/make changes in the phone system itself. Do you have access to the system?

    Rlogin Using Putty 0.58

    I am with Dixie... Use CRT with RLogin and you won't have any issues. In addition, ZOC works great too and lets you dial into systems too and run scripts like Procomm.
