help I'm trying to get mom's 486 formated after serious crash I used my boot disk and now when I try to load the cd-rom to install windows I get this message and it won't load the cd-rom I've never heard of this error can anyone help- mistygirl

hard drive is compressed and has crashed no back up disk
my mother has a 486 half gig hard drive that was compressed usuing windows drivespace and it crashed in the last storm we had , she has no emer disk her a drive wasn't working I have the restore disk but it won't format because the command.com is missing and the hard drive is...- mistygirl
