    IDE and SATA

    If your motherboard supports SATA then you can run a SATA drive but if it doesn't you need an IDE. Either way you should still have an IDE hookup on your board. SATA drives are supposed to have a faster response when accessing files on your hard drive.

    Thanks for all of your replies. Instead of trying to use software to convert the dvd, I just ended up buying a dvd player that supported the Pal format. It only costed about $35 and it plays all of my Pal dvd's without a problem. Again, thanks for everyones reply.
