We are consolidating our DNS servers within our environment, currently we have 2 primary servers with the 10.x.x.x reverse lookup zone running on NT4.
I plan to cut the contents from one .dns file and paste into the other server hosting the 10.x.x.x .dns file.

Your name resolution (WINS/DNS) may not be configured correctly for the dial-in users. Try and see if (once dialed in) you can perform name resolution. I.e try browsing or pinging and machine name to see if it is resolved to an IP address.
