I have used a startech.com USB to SErial Adapter with com port retention and it has worked on the old fms/vms/and AD-8 voicemails and with the SAT software for the elite 192's and IPK's. The part number is ICUSB232PRO. Shouldn't cost more than 50 bucks.

I don't believe you can default a VMS or FMS by flipping a dip switch. You can flip some dip switches to boot the voicemail into diagnostic mode, then connect with CoSession and your can dearchive the default system database. Good luck.

I would agree 100% with PAVE35, your only option is number 2. However, if you could get them to shell out for new handsets the IPK II would be the way to go in my opinion.

The SAT software is only availabe to NEC dealers, most IPK Techs do the programming thru the phone, it is much more reliable in my opinion.

The problem was with the CTI LX. I had to change the Initiate Sequence to "&,X,Q" and make sure the Connect Sequence was set to "Q" I wouldn't recommend changing anything in the strings unless you are sure of what you are doing.

I have an IPK V 1.60 and a small department group setup. If I transfer a caller to the department group the call hunts the way it should. However if I have the voicemail transfer a call to the pilot of the department group the call never hunts and will eventually recall back to the voicemail...

I have run across a customer with a Panasonic KX TD1232. They don't know much about the system and I am new to the Panasonic line. By the description alone it would appear that this is a 12 line 32 station system. Am I correct? Are they still producing this line of system? How old is this...

I have never run into that issue. The only time the voicemail normally says "I am sorry but I did not hear your selection" is if they are trying to dial an extension that doesn't have a mailbox in the voicemail.

There is a reset button on each of the cards. You can reset that SLI card while the system is on and it will not affect any other devices. You could also hot swap the SLI card with a different SLI card just to verfiy there isn't a problem in the back plane of the KSU.

You can't change the passwords on IPK.

I don't believe any of the Elite 48, 192, or IPK's will do a peg count like the NEAX. The only way I have been able to get an accurate count is to install a MIFM card and capture the SMDR data for incoming and outgoing calls. You could then print out that data on a serial printer, or connect...

I would setup some virtual extensions in a hunt group and have the legal lines DIT to the pilot of the hunt group. Then just put the virtual extension keys on each of the three phones that you want to ring. Good Luck.

You will want to go into MB 4-1 and turn on the ringing for that particualr extension.

I ran into the same problem with an IPK v1.7 and an Elitemail. I can't honestly remember what I did to fix the problem. I will look through some notes and post back if I find anything.

If you want the buttons to be user programmable you need to assign them in MB 4-12 as FEATURE ACCESS button or FA. I believe you can have up to 16 FA buttons per phone. Good luck.
