I used fixmbr after both hard drives were formatted and now i got XP to install on the 80GB, I really thought it was a corrupt HDD. I also had to turn off boot sector virus scanning in BIOS thnks for all ure help

Sorry to be unclear, but after installing XP and Service pack 1a, my System management Bus controller had driver problems, so i downloaded the drivers for my chpset from intel and now it works. So u do actually have to install separate drivers other than the ones available in service pack 1a...

thnks paparazi, I did a clean install of windows xp pro and service pack 1a and now get "standard enhanced PCI to USB Host controller". Thnks for u allz help. midsummas

I have a p4p800s B from Asus, says USB 2.0 available on all ports. I have enabled in BIOS and installed Win XP service pack 1a on win XP proffessional. but still does not recognize the USB as USB2.0, wat is the problem??

Whenever I start up my computer cold, PC refuses to go into Windows, shows POST and everything, just goes into black screen with green light on. CD drives are able to be ejected but no OS. I then push restart button and Windows will start up but not b4 it goes to Command screen. THis problem...
