I've got a Win2000 server being used for dns. It's worked fine for a few years until yesterday. Now when you sit down at any pc using this for dns resolution and type in an address (yahoo.com, msn.com, download.com, etc) the browser hangs for a minute, then opens google.com. Doesn't matter...
Thanks cdogg, I should have thought instead of getting frustrated. I've used Ghost and HDClone enough that I didn't even think to look for a disk that came with the hd. Sure enough Seagate provides one, it's currently copying files right now. should work, if not I'll post again.
Still...
Okay, here's the situation, any help you can provide ... please!
I've got a pc running WinXP Home, the 20GB hd had some bad sectors. I bought a 160 GB hd to replace it. The version of Norton Ghost I have won't handle WinXP, so I did a direct sector copy from the 20GB to the 160 GB using...

Okay, the person who handles our web site is currently on vacation. I know next to nothing about web hosting or how security is set up on a web site. Here's my problem: it appears that anyone can edit our web site. I can access the site page from any pc (using ie), click on File, and drop...
No login history under security, but application and system (both under event viewer) show action on the pc. Since neither one shows any pc activity during times she's not logged on, I think she's finally convinced no one else is using it. Should of thought of looking there myself.
Thanks for...
Nope, no unexpected user id's, and I've changed her password, but the user is still insistent "someone" is using her pc. She insists Win XP Pro should keep track of who logs on and when, and wants to see the "tracking file". I just don't know if XP does track logon info or...
I've got a user (management) who is convinced that someone is logging into her pc after work hours. I don't find any extraneous user accounts, but she's not convinced. Does Win XP Pro keep a log of successful user logons? Thanks for any help.
Hello all,
Does anyone know what user accounts are necessary for a webserver running on win nt? I don't know much about setting up a web server, so bear with me. One of our sites was hacked over the past weekend, they just replaced our page with some quote by Bob Marley. I've got our page...
Thanks, just one question - can I do this without logging into the user's Outlook? i.e. I'm sitting in one office and remotely access their pc with administrative rights (which does not allow me to open their Outlook unless I have their password, and try telling a user that when we're switching...
I really thought the calendar was in the .pst file also, but appears it is not. The .pst file copies just fine and when user settings are set to the saved .pst file, the user can access all their personal folders and saved messages. However the calendar info is just not there, or if it is, it...
Hoping someone can help me here. When we install a new (to them) pc for a user, we copy the outlook.pst and .pab files from their old pc to the LAN, then when their new pc is installed we copy these files back down so they still have saved messages, etc. I can do all of this without signing on...
