New hardware and program now broken? Ugh.

Tried that, I can't see anything it is doing different on this computer than the other. And after trying 2 fresh installs and getting the same message every time I can't come up with anything but hardware. I installed from the same XP Pro CD is that is on the other computer where it runs fine...

New hardware and program now broken? Ugh.

Both NTFS. All DLLs that I can see the program accessing are the exact same vers. I did the fresh isntalls just to make sure something else I installed didn't add something funky, but no luck.. The new system is SATA drives, don't see why that would matter though..

New hardware and program now broken? Ugh.

Well, I am still totally stumped. I used ProcessExp on both computers and see it accessing no different versions of any dlls. Used all compatibility modes as well. I have an extra HD in the new computer, so I even made it the master and did a fresh install of XP Pro SP2 and XP Pro w/o SP2. Soon...

New hardware and program now broken? Ugh.

I got a nice new dell desktop system, got all my stuff moved over and just realized one of the most critical programs I need will not run correctly. Running the same OS, Windows XP Pro SP2. Fresh install, every other program works fine. It is a customer management program, sorts files, etc...

Wildcard is resolving more than its domain?

Well we would like *domain.com to resolve to our IP, we just don't want nonexistint domains to resolve to our IP. We do want sldjkf.domain.com to resolve to the IP.. but we don't want jj3jh43j4h.com to resolve to our IP. Is that possible? I never noticed it until today.

Wildcard is resolving more than its domain?

I just noticed a problem with our wildcard setup. It works fine for our domain as *.domain.com will resolve to the IP set.. But also any domain that doesn’t exist is resolving to our IP, even non domains. Example a lookup on "kjsdf" will resolve to our IP. I had: * IN A <IP> Then tried...

    Reading from a file

Sorry for the remedial question, don't really use perl and was having a problem getting this to work. One of our scripts has some information hardcoded in it and I would simplely like to be able to have it read the information from a file instead. Was able to do it, but it wasn't taking it all...
