Dear all
How does one find out all the VLANs associated with a VLAN adapter? For example, my adapter ent5 is housing about 30 VLANs (as viewed from the HMC). I cannot use oem_setup_env as this is locked out for security reasons and we are only allowed to log on and use the padmin shell. I...
Thanks again for all the assistance Khalid
Yes to all the questions unfortunately
I suppose that this is all minor as I can always configure this witout a disk heartbeat, but its been bugging me why the disk won't allow this
Thanks Khalid
Using the transmit and read options from the dhb_read, everyting looks good:
root@purplehacmp# /usr/sbin/rsct/bin/dhb_read -p hdisk5 -r
DHB CLASSIC MODE
First node byte offset: 61440
Second node byte offset: 62976
Handshaking byte offset: 65024
Test byte offset: 64512...
Yes I did - I've narrowed it down to the following. When I remove the heartbeat disk as a communications device, restart cluster services, I can varyonvg my disk and sync the two nodes (cluster services work fine). However, when I add it back in as a communication device, this seems to screw up...
Thanks for the feedback - unfortunately, the first thing it moans about is that "ERROR: Devices are not in Enhanced Concurrent Mode VG" when I try to start the cluster services. I found that this was related to the gsclvmd problem and hence, the inability to vayonvg the vg in concurrent mode
Hi
I have created a disk heartbeat volumegroup. However, when I try to vary it on in concurrent mode, I receive the following error:
# varyonvg -c hbeatvg
srcsrqt failed errno : SRC_NSVR
Subsystem [gsclvmd] is not active
tellclvmd: request failed rc = -9036 [SRC_NSVR]
0516-1334 varyonvg: The...
Thanks for your help
Unfortunately, when I try to install those rsct filesets, I get the following errors:
SELECTED FILESETS: The following is a list of filesets that you asked to
install. They cannot be installed until all of their requisite filesets
are also installed. See subsequent...
Hi
I'm trying to install HACMP 53 on AIX 5.3 TL7. However, the install fails complaining about missing HACMP filesets. Is there a special procedure for installing HACMP? I've got the original disks. I can't understand how it expects HACMP filesets as a pre-req when this a brand new install...
Hi
We have a new HMC (replaced the old one as it was faulty) and I want to discover a live P590 Managed Server. I have configured two LAN Adapters, one open and one private. How do I discover the IP Addresses of a Managed Server (using the Find Managed Systems tab - but don't know the IP range...
Hello
I am trying to add a SAN disk to a vg. However, when I check the disk from lspv hdisk7, I am told the pv state of the disk is: missing. I queried the disk as well, but could not find any oddities:
PHYSICAL VOLUME: hdisk7 VOLUME GROUP: vg_App01
PV IDENTIFIER...
Hello
I deleted a volume group from the ODM as follows:
odmdelete -q "name=vg_01" -o CuAt
This was fine and the pvs and vg were no longer there from lspv
However, when I do an lsvg, I can still see the vg_01 volume group.
Does anyone know how to remove the volume group (vg_01) thats still...
Hi
Does anyone have any experience of aio server settings for an AIX server using Oracle? Can one set these very high - say 500? If so, will this completely thrash the CPU continuosly?
Hi
Our storage team dynamically copies a database (on SAN) from the hdisks assigned to the volume group of the database
However, everytime a backup is done of the hdisks, a /fs is appended to the lv label
root@servername# lslv db01_data01
LOGICAL VOLUME: db01_data01 VOLUME...
Thanks p5wizard - found a hardware error on the HMC for this LPAR. Created another LPAR and it worked fine. It was strange that one LV (data) managed to come up successfully. You're quite right that the client partition ID is incorrect. Will investigate the h/w failure further. Many thanks for...
