I was looking for a query to see how many I've already loaded XP SP3 - this did the job wonderfully. I think I shall give you a star.....Thanx bunches!
anybody have any experiences with ePO 4.0 you are willing to share? Somebody has to be on the bleeding edge....

another thing to consider - I always set the initial and maximum size to be equal. Doing so from the beginning will keep your paging file from being fragmented. If it starts together, it stays together....

I noticed SMS 2003 SP2 wants to install itself on my server/admin consoles. Before I jump in with both feet, has anyone had any experience with it yet? just curious....

Haven't really started digging too much on this one, but we are testing some machines using 64-bit Windows XP. Have tried to push the ePO agent without success to this point. Anybody have any pointers out there?
We're using ePO 3.6.0.544, with agent version 3.5.5.438.
note to self: check permissions on the shared folder. The permissions were locked down on the share so the system couldn't see into the user's sub-folder to gain access - thus the access denied message.
Hopefully that helps someone someday....dj

We recently implemented folder redirection for the my documents folder pointing to a UNC name (\\server\share$\%username%) instead of a mapped drive letter (H:\MyDocs) as it used to be.
Now we have a few computers (maybe a half dozen out of hundreds) where the...
I've seen this in the past and what I found was that I had scheduled the task to begin sometime in the past. Once I recreated the task and set it to begin in the future (even just a couple minutes or so), the task ran properly and the schedule showed the correct 'next run time'.
Maybe that'll...
I order for all the communication to take place under advanced security, we needed to have the primary SMS server's AD computer account added to the local administrators group on all the site system servers. Once we did that, all was well!
Probably won't give myself a star, but I feel like it...
Packages will no longer send to distribution points (DPs) - I don't know when it quit working, thereby I don't know what we changed (if anything)! I noticed it when sending a package and all clients pulled from the same server. The DPs are just regular old file servers without SMS loaded on...
I did not. Since the plan was to build a new server, I just renamed the server back to its original name. Since it worked again, I didn't worry about it any more. After I get the new one up and running, I might just try that to see if it works - but since it's not currently broken, I don't think...
To answer the first question - I never had any response prior to today, and I did eventually rename the server. ePO promptly quit working even though it was the same machine, same IP address - the only thing changed was the computer name. I changed the computer name back to the original and it...
I ran into the same problem on my ePO server, as well as all repositories last week - a simple reboot of each server got rid of the 'Access Denied' message in every case....dj
Assuming you have admin rights on the PC, open regedit and go to HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop\Wallpaper - double click on Wallpaper and either delete the value there or change it to a more desireable picture.
Careful on the word 'desireable' - that's what got you here in the first...
