I have read from several professional sources that typically, hardware compression will yield better results versus software compression. I'm talking DLT IV using Arcserve 9 now. Well, i had been having issues with hardware compression whereby 80GB tapes would max out just below 60GB. I realize...
my 2 cents on this topic:
Since version 6.x, Arcserve Alerts have been a pain to manage. It took me a long while to get it to work on Lotus Notes. I finally had to install a Notes client on the server to get it ti work. When, I finally got SMTP alerts working, I never looked back. Seems...
I have used that method, and it didnot work. Arcserve prefers alphabetical order, instead of priority.
I noticed when I set HIGH priority on the Client Agent for our MAIL server, it did get backed up first, however.
Still don't understand this...

Trackit 6 has been upgraded to 6.5. Some minor improvements is the inclusion of Audit Plus and the death of Access as the db (non-Ent. versions).
I have used TI6.x for over a year and it has not been an easy conquest. Auditing is ok, but got hung up on hyperthreading enabled pcs. Reports are...

6.5 just came out. Find out if you qualify for the "free" upgrade.
I had 6.0 Standard and they upgraded me to 6.5 Pro, which includes MSDE, Audit Plus and Monitor (email Alerts). I cannot get SMTP messaging to work via Lotus Notes.
I, too, wish there was a TI forum out there. Seems like a...
DavidMichel, you mentioned an improvement in the Exchange agent. We are a Notes shop, is the assumption correct that the Notes agent is improved as well??

Actually, the final session begins and then asks to load the next tape (Sequence 2). Again, I don't know why as there is plenty of room left for these final sessions. The last server being backed up is not a database server specifically.
There is an MSDE databse on here but it is not large at...
I have a backup job that ends/cancels itself at about 62GB of data. I'm using 80GB compressed DLT for media. Also, that last session that gets cut off by the job is only 10GB, so the total size of the job is 72GB, still plenty of room left on the media.
I have other jobs that run over 70gb with...
I will try setting this up at the "service side", but can I assume you mean from the Client Agent GUI on each server?
Is that correct?

While on the topic, does anyone have a list of names of the DBs in BABv9. I am running into the same issue using my old Arcerve 2000 database maintenence scripts. Thanks...

I tried using Source Priority with Arcserve 2000 and was never able to get it to ACTUALLY work. Now I have BAB v9 installed and I would like to try to utilize Source Priority for all jobs. What do I need to do?
Do I need to enable anthing on the Client Agent side? My assumption was that since...
I have been using Arcserve 9 for a little over a year. The upgrade from Arcserve 2000 to BAB v9 was a great improvement, especially with the Raima database and overall backup speeds.
I don't like to messing with something that is not broken. So I'm looking for feedback on v11, since I qualify...
Thank you for all your feedback. I think Power Users is the best setting for road warriors, as it does not completely stifle their abilities to do what they need.
Thanks to all who responded!!!
