Thank you. Good to see that people are still willing to help in making honest I.T. decisions.
Here is the scenario currently. I am now a business owner that employees over 200 people that share 120 desktops on different shifts. Only 20 of the people are employees and need email. The other...
I have been an MCSE , MCT with Microsoft since 3.51 server. I am getting so sick of the overhead that it takes to run a Microsoft server as well as a desktop environment.
I am tired of constantly fighting virus targeted at Microsoft platforms.
I am looking to move my whole company of 150...
Is their a way to setup my Company's Exchange 2000 server to act as a secondary server to an external Pop/Smtp mail server?
We need the server internally because we have and need a Blackberry Enterprise server for Exchange and we need the public folders and calendar sharing option.
However, we...
Is there a protocol to use to setup remote office users instead of Pop and SMTP in order to have users access an internal Exchange 2000 server?
Or do I need a VPN or dial-up into the Server to have all of the same features.
I.e. Public Calendar sharing, Contacts etc.
I can not beleive it is that easy. I thought the ext. means extension. So I can just enter the telephone number their?

I would like to know if it is possible to outbound transfer a caller.
For example:
When a caller presses option one for an individual that works from home instead of wringing his voicemail I would like to know If I can have it transfer the call automatically to the users home office phone number.
I have a CCR tree setup with options. I.e. for sales press 1.
I would like that option to ring multiples telephone handsets. I have seen hunt groups but I am not sure if my system has that ability.
I have a Norstar 8x24 with a Startalk Flash. I could use any help that I can get.
I have the CCR menu pointing to extensions.
For Example:
Path 1
Ext. 221
However Ext. 221 is also a voicemail box for Path 1. My assumption is that if the path is not answered then the voicemail for that area would answer and take a message.
My telephones only use 2 digits.
Example: 21...
I take that back they get to the CCR tree and the tree goes do all of the designated paths. However, all of the paths ring to the voicemail and not the handsets.
Is their a way to assign an extension example 221 to a handset 21.
I thought that the handsets are in order that they are punched...
