Curious what experiences everyone has with open source monitoring softwares/agents for workstations.
Specifically what do you use for desktops and laptops out in the field to maybe email in a report when a problem is detected? These would be systems not part of a VPN or have any direct...
From what I've read/know about Windows, you can only use 1 gateway at a time.
Is there any way to have 2 network cards on a terminal server, each with a different gateway?
This would allow users to have a second ICA connection to try and use in the event the primary gateway fails.
I have a...
Does anyone have a solution to this issue?
11.0 Client, going into Program Neighborhood to create a Custom ICA Connection. Have been doing this for years. When adding a new connection, normally I type in the server IP. With this new client, it won't let me type it. It specifically tells me...
The Security System detected an authentication error for the server DNS/prisoner.iana.org. The failure code from authentication protocol Kerberos was "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.

Occurs about every hour.

No sweat. Going to be awhile before I have to worry about this now. But thank you for the post, it is appreciated.

Here is how you want to approach reinstalling ANY usb devices, especially on 98:
1. Remove any entries for the device in device manager.
2. Remove any drivers from add/remove programs.
3. Shut down.
4. Unplug the device.
5. Power on.
6. Load the drivers.
Unless it prompts you to insert...
What is a USB hardware?
Do you mean a USB controller card? If so, what model and have you installed the drivers for it?

Long story short, if the PC was a retail that came preinstalled with ME, save your money. Don't buy XP and try to install it, it will run poor.
Tell them to save up for a new PC, and when the ME machine finally dies, buy a new one.
As said above, just pop in AVG.

Yeah, reset the password at both places. You might just kill the .pwl file on the 95 machine to be safe, then reboot and type in a new password.

I'll parrot what has already been said.
SQUAWK... BUY A REAL NETWORK CARD! SQUAWK... BUY A REAL NETWORK CARD!
Those USB network adapters are crap. Stop wasting your own time.

If you look at the headers, are you sure they aren't coming from the outside? Its likely someone stumbled across your form once, and then scripted a bombing of spam to whatever email address you listed on that form.
If not, then you probably want to start scanning that server for trojans...
I appreciate it. And if you can give me info on that tool with SP2 that would also appreciate it. This tool sets the default printer on workstations, or just on the server itself?

Could you? Thanks.
There are 2 VBS scripts on the server, and I don't see any statements that would seem to set a default printer. But then again, I don't use VBS scripts.
I don't see any calls locally on each workstation that would execute a VBS script, I believe there is a GPO on the...
2003 Server. 6 XP workstations.
Why someone implemented VBS scripts and multiple group policies for mapping 3 drives and 2 printers is beyond me. Such a small network.
Anyways, I have created a login script to clean up drive mappings for this small network.
The problem is, every time I...
Have you tried disabling the cached mode on a few PCs?
Also read this, talks about a possible filtering problem. I'm assuming you've looked for any rogue PST folders by turning on the "Folder List" view.
