I tried to move a mailbox from one server to a different server. At some point in the process it failed. I now have the working mailbox on server 2 and half a mailbox on server 1. If I try to Purge the mailbox on server 1 it tells me that the mailbox is mid replication and to try again later...
Addendum:
As I couldn't get the users mailbox down in size, I manually increased her mailbox limits. However, this is being ignored and Exchange is refusing to allow here to send messages (but it will now deliver email). Mailbox space used 288,000. Mailbox limits on send and receives 500,000.
I have one uses where Exchange2k says the mailbox is 277mb in size and yet they have only 5 emails with no attachments, nothing in send or deleted items, only a few contacts and 5 calendar items which are on endless recurrency. (170 items in total apparently)
Is this corruption or is there...
Sadly that was exactly the reason. Even though Backup Exec was set to email me if the backup failed and even though the server was set to send a message if the free drive space fell below 25%. Neither happened and the backup failed 5 days in a row and...... dead server.
Managed to move one...
My exchange server has failed because it has decided there is insufficient space on the drive to mount the store (even though there is over a gig in space but I digress). I have run eseutil recovery so ften now it is driving me nuts and it keeps failing. I have got to the point that I am just...
I have 2 exchange servers, 1 is at our main office and one is used at a remote site. The servers appear to have decided to swap their roles and the primary server "appaears" to have become the secondary server and vice versa. I say this as internal email is now taking 4 or 5 seconds to arrive...
I have just used printmig for the second time and although everything appeared to work fine, half a day later, some printers are losing the connection to the printers on the new server, others are working fine.
Even though no errors are generated in the error log, a restart of the print spooler...
I have an OU that my boss has moved and as a result, his Treo no longer works. On looking at Exchanges error log, it tells me that error 1021 is the problem and is the result of one user trying to access another users mailstore. I believe that to be the Treo and my bosses account.
The...
I am having a problem with msiexec when I try to update an administrative install point with a service pack.
Microsoft's website tells me that this should work:-
msiexec /p c:\officexpsp2\officesp2.msp /a \\server\officexp\std.msi SHORTFILENAMES=TRUE /qb
however, as I also looked up applying...
I have a vague recollection that there is a way to apply a service pack to an administrative install point. I am hoping someone can tell me if I am dreaming or if there is a way.

I have one user where I have checked all the printer settings and all paper types are set to A4, the Outlook Memo style is set to print to A4 however, when the user prints an email, it comes out on Letter.
I have also checked Internet Explorer settings and these are set to Letter, however, it...
I have an NT4 box running Terminal Services which has produced the following error:-
Unable to create temp\lbi02645, error 2. (354)
Now I thought this was just a permissions thing but sadly not, I gave Everyone full rights to that folder and still the same error. I can find nothing on the...
Yee Haa,
I found a trust that I hadn't noticed before, and a server on the old domain out at an outlying office that I didn't know about.
Hope to kill the last NT4 box this week and say goodbye to the old domain!
Thanks for your help!
I wish I could report that your suggestion had fixed the problem. I do remember there being issues with opportunistic locking and FoxPro some years ago so I was hopeful. Sadly, no effect at all. I think there is some deep rooted network issue that is affecting performance. Sadly I can't find...
