Thanks for the reply. I did get the autonumber working. An ADO or DAO are not the only way to connect to a database. I connect to a database through code only. No controls are in my project. Mary- maryrp2

Need help with getting an autonumber to work
I could use some help with the code to get an autonumber "empID" to work. Not sure what to write in code. I am not using any control when connecting to the database. Any Ideas??????? Maryrp2- maryrp2
