    Regedit required?

In case the above doesn't work, I have had some success with this software: http://bytesolutions.com/Support/Knowledgebase/KB_Viewer/ArticleId/35/DevNodeClean-remove-phantom-storage-device-nodes.aspx Basically, it removes all the phantom drives that the server is never likely to see / use...

    Changing password poilcy

Hi, If you change the password expirey days to be longer then it'll not force an immediate change AFAIK so you should be OK to make both of those changes.

Disable bitmap caching - Terminal Services

Hi All, Does anyone know if it is possible to make a server side change that tells all connecting RDP clients to disable bitmap caching when using the Terminal Services Client? I know you can do this on the clients themselves, but I have a few hundred to do and they're not in the domain so...

Draft1 draft2 etc folders appear in Outlook

Thanks, I'll give the RU7 a try - upgrading iOS might be fun as there are large number of phones involved, but I guess that's what the interns are for :)

Hi, Do I read things correctly that if you try to telnet from the Internet to the external IP of your Edge server you don't get a connection?

Draft1 draft2 etc folders appear in Outlook

We have the following situation I hope someone has seen before. Exchange 2007 server (SP3) with a shared mailbox. A number of users have this mailbox synced to their iPhones along with their mail mailbox. For some reason, the server creates draft1, draft2... draft7 folders in that mailbox...

    C: Drive Filling Up

Also worth checking c:\windows\system32\logfiles especially the W3SVC1 folder. That can have huge numbers of logs in it. If you're not interested in the old webserver log files, you can either delete all but the most recent or at least move them to a folder with more space.

PLEASE HELP!! OS X 10.6.7 on SBS 2003 Network

Hi, From what I can see there appears to be an issue with the VPN connection from the MAC to the network, or possibly an underlying DNS issue so that the mac can't lookup the server properly so that'd be the place to look. However, I tend to avoid the VPN --> Email these days and just setup...

    Autoenrollment issue

Hi, I have an SBS 2003 server, fully patched. I'm about to migrate it over to SBS 2011. In the logs, I have found a number of errors about autoenrollment of the DC certificate. That certificate appears to have recently expired and not been able to autorenew. The error in the log is: Error 13...

Hi, Here's the config. TS box in a hosted environment. 8GB RAM, WS 2K8. All SPs and patches applied. Clients logon via the TS gateway service. Service uses an internally generated certificate. All clients have had the ROOT cert manually added to trusted root certificates. On all but one...

    Terminal Services permissions issue

Thanks! That makes sense now. I was wondering why it worked OK for some users and not others but it presumably they are using printers for which the server already has a driver.

    Terminal Services permissions issue

Hi All, I have a setup as follows: Single DC (2008 x32) Separate TS (2008 x32) TS licensing is on the DC. This is all hosted on Hyper-V. The install is vanilla in terms of permissions and all TS users are setup in the remote desktop users group. For one user, the printers, remote disks etc...

Explorer restarts when trying to open a CMD prompt

It sounds very like an issue we had recently with a bit of malware. The fixing steps are posted here: http://www.ion-systems.net/TechTips/tabid/223/Default.aspx Basically, a bit of malware got into the hklm\software\microsoft\windows NT\drivers32 section of the registry. Removing / correcting...
