Server edition does not need VCM's - I am talking about RTP ports here. Real Time protocol. RTP ports do similar to vcm's. If it was a v2-500 I would agree but not on SE.

I had thought the offset in the locations tab was for GMT not the time zone of the switch.. Thus the 5 Hours offset was in there. Once I removed the offset all was well (after a phone reboot).

The time in the 8300 is correct and the time zone show EST
(New York) yet the 9640 display is 5 hours behind. It is like the phone is on GMT. How do I corerect that?
I went all the way to tier 4 over this issue. I'm still not sure we got it fixed. It seems to work better now but not 100%.

I was also having similar problems with this issue. Some of the fix seemed to be duplicate entires in the hunt group and user form. If an extension was in twice it would grab an extra VCM and lock it up. Later no vcm's would be available and all paging would die. Also problems with users...
Send the incoming call to an slt port and loop it back thru a trunk then set the analog trunk to loop start.
This will make calls to that DID come in without ICLID!

Trisys Telecom is coming out with a recording adjunct that will associate recording with their appropriate call accounting CDR. Not sure if it is proprietary or encrypted - you would have to check with them...(due in april I believe)

I Stand corrected.
After reading all this I decided to set it up.
I used the same :
-Allocated Answer Interval = 15
-Overflow time= 40
-Hunt type = most idle
-There are extensions in the extension list and there are two huntgroups in the overflow list.
-Voicemail = On
-Fallback = In Service...
You need to go to the System tab then the Telephony tab and Tick the local busy tone. Otherwise the T-1 (Ip Office) sends the Lec a signal to play busy tone and Hangs UP. We had a similar problem with PRI's where the extension user was calling a busy number and the PRI would just drop the call...
