Simply go into your User Preferences and under Units and Rulers, change your New Document Preset Resolutions to 300 pixels per inch if you are planning to print the photographs. Don't bet if you don't know the odds... You need to convert your bitmap to .psd, but will have to convert it to Grayscale first. Once you have it as a .psd, you will need to UNLOCK the Background Layer, as your image will be titled in the Layers Palette. Once you have converted the image into...

    photoShop7 drops out

Do you have any fonts loaded that you downloaded? Sometimes, they are just "different" enough that they can cause problems with PS loading. Resetting prefs fixes it, but only for awhile.

    Help with Photoshop error please...

If you can, see if you can get the documents stored as a .tif... You may be running into incompatability for .psd's from CS to 6. You might also post this in the Adobe user to user forum boards. Some to the Adobe coders read those posts and may have a better answer.

    Placing Photoshop Template into Dreamweaver

You need to read your Dreamweaver documentation to answer those questions, as THAT is the application that you will be using. You won't be able to read any "coding," per se regarding your Photoshop template, as there is none. In photoshop, you are dealing with images, not code. That's why I...

Here's a possible workaround: *Open your image, and create a duplicate layer of it. *Make the selection for your desired reduced opacity area. *Under the Channels Palette, click the "Save selection as a channel button at the bottom. Do people recommend Adobe Go Live?

Personally, as one Adobe addict to another, yes, I wholeheartedly recommend GoLive! It's much more intuitive as regards integrating Photoshop, Illustrator, Live Motion and Image Ready, and if you are comfortable with Photoshop, you'll appreciate GL much more than fighting with Dreamweaver...

    Crashes on Startup

You have a hardware problem. PS is VERY demanding on your System Resources. If it is crashing, it could be as simple as a bad video card driver, or not enough RAM. Hard to say troubleshooting blind, but it IS a hardware conflict, no doubt. You can try this solution from the Adobe forums, which...
