pc not booting; black screen; continuous beeps

I'd also check to see if you have a cooling fan that is disconnected. You might be getting an "over temp" warning.

    Defined Site not Updating

I've searched the forums, and the closest thing I found was thread248-105155 I have followed the advice of Horsebreath (07/16/01) and Lexus 904/05/04) but no glory there. I had DW/MX installed on an older computer, and got a new one. I reinstalled DW/MX and redefined my sites and successfully...

    Recreating Local Files

I did just that. I downloaded WS FTP Pro (www.ipswitch.com) then downloaded my site. It still took close to 4 hours to download 108mb, but at least I have it all locally now.

    Recreating Local Files

Cheech, you are correct. It's the host that matters. As far as host connection, I am not sure, but it is advertised that I have an "OC-3 connection".

    Recreating Local Files

I searched and didn't see this topic covered before. I recently lost my HD and got a new one. I tried to download my existing site to convert all my remote files into new local files. This process takes an extremely long period of time. I stopped after a few hours, and only getting a portion...

Unable to superimpose the graphics on the poster?

You might have to convert your graphic to RGB before bringing it in on a new layer.

    Downloading from my Digital

You could also purchase a Memory Stick reader (about $15) and read your card with this. It will appear as a Removable Disk. Then you can drag & drop your photos where you need them.

    Intranet Project Management

I probably led a few people astray with my first post. It's not so much a "project data management" issue I'm trying to solve, but more a "project data distribution" issue. In this regard I think an intranet would work well for a solution. Also, MS Sharepoint looks...

Time estimate to write a program?

Not knowing your skill level, nor the complexity of the requested programs, I doubt anyone can help you with this problem. One thing to keep in mind though, when you estimate how long things are going to take, always base a "work day" on only 4 hours of actualy work, not 8. This...

Just add the "WWW." in the link above, it'll work then.

    Intranet Project Management

Thanks for the speedy reply LordOfCode. We have a bunch of info on our Projects (we are a OEM Manufacturer), and they are kept on the network. The problem arises when people are looking for info, and the "gatekeeper" is not in the office. I was thinking it would be rather simple to...

    Intranet Project Management

I'm curious about companies that use intranet sites to help manage Projects. I'd like to set one up for our engineering group. Who maintains the page content? How much time is involved on a monthly basis? Can this be done as a collateral duty, or should someone be dedicated to the intranet...

    DW4: Remote Server Time?

I was trying to upload a changed page, and got the following error: "Dreamweaver cannot determine the remote server time. The Select Newer and Synchronize commands will not be available." I clock "OK" and let everything continue, only to get the next error: "An FTP...

Host questions, space, etc. Also, a site design ? with dreamweaver

Let's not forget that .COM was suppose to be used for commercial sites (ie selling stuff). If you're not selling, consider .NET or .ORG I think you need to take a long look at your photos as well. Remember that 72dpi is the resolution to use, and you want your photos to be small enough so...

I would think it's the Artistic > Cutout filter.
