I removed SCSI drivers and I've got BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH

You've got only two options as I see it. Re-install NT when it gets to the part where it detects the previous install and asks if you want to do a new install or upgrade? Pick the upgrade, don't forget to look for the screen to tell NT about additional equipment, then add in your scsi drives...

TCP/IP protocol: how to install drivers without NT CD-ROM

You should first try to rectify the problem and see if you can get the unit to detect the cd. Failing that if both units have nic cards and netbeui is installed connect them together and copy the cd from cd drive on unit1 to hard drive on unit2. Failing that you can use a...

    Strange Printer Problem-Help!

Check and I'll bet you there're printer ques for the printers on the other unit. Remember w/ NT the spooling on the server is just storage for the que on the local workstation.

    Network settings

    1. IF the network worked before and suddenly just stopped and there were absolutely NO CHANGES made, the immediate presumption is the nic card. Nic cards are like light bulbs they only blow when you turn the switch on. If the nic has activity lights on the back plane, check if they're showing...

    Win2k OEM on new PC?

IT DEFINITELY IS THE BIOS, you won't see or find it. Compaq does the same thing and their restore cd's for different versions won't install(and software for their units) unless it reads the key from the bios. GARWAIN has the best idea. install to a new hd inside the dell, delete the devices...

    IP Address

    Netlogon disabled but not?

Try re-applying sp6, if that doesn't work try reinstalling NT40, when the install screen tells you that it's found a previous version do you want a NEW install or UPGRADE pick the upgrade so you'll keep all your software, settings, etc.. then re-apply sp6 (yea, yea, I know this gets to be a pain...

How to? Install Applications without admin rights.

Create a user on each box that you configure called "ADMINSTALL" and give that user admin rights, then simply logon and install the software as that user. If you've already got a couple hundred systems already configured you're going to have to create that user on each unit manually...

    STOP screen

Try doing an upgrade, use the same disks/cd you did your install with and reinstall. When the screen gets to the point that it finds the installed version and askes if you want a new install or upgrade, do the upgrade.

    NT server batch file

Yea, I know EXACTLY what you mean, I think the real reason they get mad is because not only did they not know what they were doing when they screwed it up, NOW somebody else knows how dumb they were too. Good Luck

    NT server batch file

We had a similiar problem here, turns out the unit was trying to make the connection before the network drive was connected, changing the startup sequence of the software packages cured it. If not, Those two files aren't native to NT, are you sure the user didn't try to install a program they...

I didn't see where you joined the unit to a domain/workgroup, did you perhaps forget that little point ?

    "Upgrade" from WIN98SE

NT will run only on Dos or FAT NOT FAT32: NT is much more secure then any of the previous Microsoft NOS. Most Drivers have to be geared towards NT because HAL (Hardware Access Layer) will not let any device directly access the hardware. There are default, roaming and mandatory profiles. The...

    "Upgrade" from WIN98SE

Nope! The only way you can upgrade any box to a version of NT is if there's already a same or lower version of NT on the box. Anything else will have to be a full install.
