Hi all,
I'm planning to replace our old NT4 server by a better machine (will be NT4 too, for some reasons). This server is a PDC, acting also as a WINS, DNS and DHCP server.
Where can I find a complete procedure to move all data
and configuration from one server to another (I know I have to...
Thanks TheLad, but I really don't want to give any more
right to my users! ;)
The problem occurs in fact with published apps with Citrix,
they can't even launch them if they're not local admins...
I've tried to ask Citrix guys but no one answered, even
on their forums... The only thing they...
Hi everybody,
My users always report that they need at least local
administrator privileges to install an application, and
of course, I don't want them to have these privileges.
Actually, I need to go on their workstations and log on
as admin, then install the app, and log off, etc..
I've...
Any connection should work, of course 56k is slow, due to the fact that each signature you download is about 3 Mb. Just remember that the connection MUST BE OPENED before Autodownload manger connects to CA's FTP server.
Moreover, you should explode your downloading scheme by allowing one...
Thanks Mark, I can see we have the same experience with SCSI things! :)
Moreover, another thing I've learned is to check CA's Certified Device List BEFORE buying a drive or library! This is really important for newbies, before spending a lot of bucks in a hardware that needs a new version of...
Hi,
The SuperDLT1 has been tested and is officialy supported by CA if you use ARCserveIT 6.61 + SP2a, so if you have a problem, you can contact CA!
In my humble opinion, I should better use ARCserve2000 as it is more recent, and developpement has been discontinued on 6.61... for device patches...
Hi,
Well, without a registration ID, you can't go far... license will terminate within one month. So you NEED this registration ID (ask your reseller)...
Concerning the domain thing, that's pretty easy: you need to create a NT account in your secondary domain, give him the necessary rights for...
Hi,
The message is clear : just run RegisterIT on your Exchange server, and enter the registration ID you MUST HAVE for the Exchange Agent... Also check your event viewer on the Exchange server, you'll see a few CA LIC messages... ;)
Then, after the license issue, remember to right click on...
Hi,
Let me add just a few words: unfortunately, only SOME (and not all) error codes are documented on CA's website... of course, it's the one you're looking for that's missing...
Moreover, the ones that are documented are often linked to
a specific problem that a customer encountered, and...
Hi,
I really wander if it's really possible to get an alert for this kind of things: the fact is this pop-up is first only displayed on the server, and not on remote managers (see CA Storage Newsletter 00.06, March 24th 2000), and second, it doesn't have a code (E**** or even W****), so we...
Hi,
Remembered also to change the Exchange agent settings on the Exchange server to match the changes, if it used the admin account for the backup... But what Jim Pames wrote is right also, so just check this out in addition.
Hope this helps,
LST
Hi,
I'll will just add my 2 cents contribution to this thread : if you own an external drive or tape library, remember to switch it off and make a COLD reboot of your server. Then turn them on again, the SCSI chain will be reinitialized correctly.
Hope this helps,
LST
Hi,
Please note that you can only restore files stored on a NW server on a NW server, I mean that backing up files from NW and trying to restore those files on a NT/2000 (or other OS) server will give you corrupt files!
If you're restoring on the NW server itself, please let us know. About the...
