Hi all,
How would I go about downloading Java Virtual Machine without having to install XP Service Pack 1? Would any one happen to have it as a seperate installable download?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi all,
How do you get an application to run as a service? I have a small "keep alive" app running to ping my isp to keep the connection from dropping. I would like to keep the app running as a service. Anyone know how?
Thanks,

Hi All,
Anyone have any problems installing a DLT 7000 on NT 4.0 with sp 6? I have DLT driver 1.9 from quantum, but it always fails to load.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi all,
I am pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I was wondering if anyone has come across a method of falling back to SP5 from 6 without the old files saved at time when the SP was installed.
Like I said, I am pretty sure I am out of luck, but thought I would ask anyhow.
Let me know...
Try doing the same but boot in with Safe Mode. On boot hold the F8 key and select Save mode. This should allow you to make the changes without causing a nasty GPF.
Hope this helps!

I am pretty sure that you need to have a name of some sort in that field below the icon. If it irks you that much, try just using a combo of .'s or other such characters.
Hope this helps!

As it stands, it looks like your data is gone forever. However, I have seen cases where the file gets turned into a *.tmp file. What you should do is do a search on all *.tmp files and check the modified dates. If you find a big honking file that was modified on the date that the real one was...
Could you not use the NT Repair floppies to try and fix some of the main components? This of course means that the set of floppies has been kept up to date?
Hope this Helps

Hi,
Try a search on *.tmp files and dump them all and reboot.If it continues,create a config.sys if there is not one already in your root and add the following lines:
STACKS=64,512
FILES=60
BUFFERS=40
then reboot.
Should be a little more stable.
Hope if works for ya!

and it will give you the response time in nanoseconds (ns).
Or you can ping another address, once connected to the net, if you know their ip address or you can use a friendly name like www.whatever.com and it should...
Hey all,
I have a few clients that upon closing Word, they get a message to the effect that changes have been made to normal.dot and do they want to save it. I assume that normal.dot is the template for a "new" document. What could be causing this grief and how can it be fixed...
