    Outlook 2000 problem

Crosser - yes. The problem here is that we are using Office 97, and Outlook 2000. My machine is Office 2000/Outlook 2000, and I can change my name fine. However, every other machine has Office 97/Outlook 2000, and for some reason, Outlook 2000 will not pick up the Office 97 name/company settings.

    Outlook 2000 problem

Funnily enough we tried this, and we managed to change the company name, but not the user name??? A fresh install of outlook doesn't solve the problem either. We removed Office and installed Outlook on it's own, but the wrong name is still showing up

    Outlook 2000 problem

Unfortunately, this works with Office 2000 and Outlook 2000. However the machine in question has Office 97 and Outlook 2000, which means Outlook 2000 does not pick this setting up :( Thanks for your help so far....any more suggestions?! :) Sarah

Hi, Yes, but I can't change it from Help-About?? I've now also done a search through the registry and the incorrect name doesn't appear to be held in the registry ? Thanks, Sarah

    Outlook 2000 problem

Thanks....but that's not what I'm looking for! I'm looking to change the details on the splash screen at the start - what I mean is the screen which says Microsoft Outlook at the top, and then underneath has your name, company and Product ID. The name here is incorrect and I need to change it...

    Outlook 2000 problem

The splash screen on Office 2000 on one of our users PC's shows an incorrect name. I think the resolution is to enter her correct name in the screen which appears when you first run Outlook where you have to enter your name and initials. I have deleted her profile, and there are no .pst or .prf...

    account manager problem as root

You also need to make sure that the Account Manager isn't already running - I can't remember where it is, but if there is a file called AM_IS_RUNNING, delete it, and then your account manager should work.

arrow up (like doskey), how to

I'm not sure about disabling, and personally I don't want to try this, but I'm sure that if you really don't want to log your previous commands, set the $HISTFILE variable to 0 (not sure if this is allowed), or 1. I would personally really recommend against this though....

    Cancelling print jobs

Heh, yes....it is the best option. The problem is it's a bespoke piece of software which gives you the option of running a test print to make sure the printer is lined up. When I watch them, the prints run fine. We've tried pressing test print, and one comes out. However, when I'm not...

    Cancelling print jobs

Hi, Got a fix for this: As it turns out, the print server is unable to handle spooling properly, hence the hangs whenever I try and cancel a print job. Hence, I have a script now which picks the test prints (they are all the same size) and then I have to cancel them with the kill -15 command...

    Crontab Entry

Check whether the actual file itself is executable - I had a similar problem which drove me mad for days, until I realised it was a read-only file! Sarah

    Cancelling print jobs

Sorry.... It's sco openserver 5. No, they aren't that slow in staring? At least no slower than they've ever been. The printer is running off a print server, which is a "NetportExpress PRO/100". The printer itself is a lineprinter. Sarah
