Recently took over the administration of our Pix firewall and got Syslogging turned on. I've been watching the logs to try and educate myself and have a newbie question about what log entries are "important" and what's standard operational messages.

My 3640 is connected to fa0/23 (172.16.40.1) on a 3524 switch trunked to the 3550.
That's why I was wanting to use the routing capacity of the 3550 for intervlan routing per http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk389/tk815/technologies_configuration_example09186a008019e74e.shtml
Am I totally off-base?
