I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I will be happy when 95, 98 and ME are erradicated from the face of the planet. 2000, XP and even NT are far superior. I do not miss "Illegal Operations" and system hangs over something as simple as a screen saver. Good ridance.
I finally got around to formatting the HD in this printer. What I did was attached a parallel cable to the PC and the printer and did a DOS copy to the LPT1 port. C:\copy format.ps lpt1 after this I copied the init.ps. printed a startup page and the hard drive was initialized and ready.
Router was replaced and problem persists. Upon further head to wall banging I looked at the processes running in task manager. Sqlservr.exe was using 50% of the CPU during this down time. Turned out the server was infected with the slammer (W32.SQLExp) worm and this was really a denial of...
I tried the loopback address 127.0.0.1 and the server wouldn't accept this address in the net card properties. I have a replacement router on the way perhaps this will be the cure, yet it doesn't seem to me the likely problem. I am still open to suggestions if anyone out there is advanced enough...
I had a similar problem with an 850. Replaced the temp sensor and no change. A young woman walked in the office while I was working on it and said "brrr it's cold in here!" then quickly jiggled out of the room. After the error came back a time or two I decided to move the printer to a...
Thanks for the reply John. The network was running flawlessly for 2 months prior to adding this DSL line and router. After the router was installed, up and running I did the Windows update downloaded and installed every update after SP3. Once I rebooted, no more server, rebooted again and all...
I have a W2K Server with a Netopia Cayman DSL router. Since adding this router to the network the server will lose it's ethernet connection after a period of time. A shutdown and restart will correct this for a period of time that seems random, sometimes it lasts all day and sometimes only 20...
Xerox had given me some incorrect info regarding the HD. All that needs to be done is to format and initialize a drive if it's a replacement and we already have the circuit board it attaches to. So looking on Xerox web site I see no info on how to do this, I downloaded the HD.exe that is used to...
Sorry - That previous post has an eroneous part number. That would be for an 850. The 860 uses the number you have already replaced. Try replacing the pick roller.
We just paid $589 on a 6GB replacement hard drive for a Phaser 850DP. The drive is an IBM same as used in notebook computers, the difference being Xerox puts their software on the drive at the factory or wherever. My question is has anybody ever copied one of these drives to a blank drive? and...
That broken guide is blocking the tray. The right and left maintenance drawer guides break frequently. You need to replace that one and should be prepared to replace the right as well, the right side is the one that locks the drawer and commonly breaks when users try to force the drawer out when...
