Since I'm making next to nothing on this, I really don't want to invest in anything. I probably could burn it to a CD, because one of their machines has a CD on it. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't something I was forgetting to do, when I created the EXE. thank you for confirming...
I've been out of the programming loop for a while, but am updating a system. After I create the exe file at home, which I copy to a disk and drive it to their site (because they are too cheap to buy a modem!) I then try to copy the exe to the correct directory on the network, but I get the...
IT is amazing how you forget when you haven't looked at VFP in two years. I opened the project, clicked on code and there I saw it was calling the other screen. I changed it there and recompiled and everything seems fine.
thx
I am trying to do a simple modification to a vfp6.0 system. I copied a simple screen and added it to the project. I later call the screen off a menu. I then changed the simple screen as needed (removed a few words etc...) I then rebuilt the application and ran it, but the simple screen...
Thanks for the advice. Doesn't the 'copy to' take care of any corruption? I like your advice on how to get the correct data back in, but still worried about stability. thank you.
I did try the fix mentioned in the next post, but couldn't get it to work. It wanted me to enter something for...
I have an application running on Fox 2.6 that suddenly seems to have a problem with a memo field. Some of the memo field data doesn't seem to go with the right records. In most cases it does though.
I first tried to do the "pack memo" command. This resulted in "memo file is...
On this particular machine clicking File, New, Query, New - results in a general protection fault. Where the other machines, using the same FoxPro can create a query. It's the ole, it used to work and we didn't change anything on this machine routine!! The RAM tester is the direction I think...
Creating a new query in FoxPro 2.6 results in a general protection fault on just one server. FoxPro 2.6 is installed on the network being used by 6 users. One user can't create or use any queries. It results in a gneral protection fault. We reinstalled FoxPro 2.6 with the same results, other...
Both machines appear to have the correct computer name entered. I thought we had it this time, as we have not tried this. It almost seems that something on the one computer must be corrupt. I'm clueless at this point, thanks so much for all your help.

This is the weirdest thing. We called in the Novell expert and he could not find a login script ( on any of the computers). He said it must be a generic one. I looked around and couldn't find one either, but I'm far from an expert. This is so frustrating because 4 computers work and 1...
Thanks for responding so quickly. I search one of the computers that works for shell.cfg and net.cfg and did not find them. I found shell.inf, shell.dll, net.msg, and net.inf, but not the ones mentioned.

I have a FoxPro 2.6 application written for a client. In the startup program I use sys(0) which grabs the machine name (ex. PJOHNSON). This way I can add the user to the record when they modify the record. I then know who the last user was to modify a record. Recently this feature stopped...
Thanks, the person who we can't get the user name with sys(0) is also not showing up in Network Neighborhood. Thanks for everyones advice.<br><br><br>Lisa
