I have tried other boot discs from other cds and also from bootdisk.com and many other places, none will allow me to get past the first stage of fdisk. Wont let me get into fdisk commands to partion. it's not registering the drive either when i try to locate it in dos mode. When i try partion...- LightWolf

okay sorry for that, i posted that in another forum..lol. When i tried it on the other drive I chose yes, and it said error no fixed drives when i hit enter, i am booting from a disc and a cd, which i made bootdisk from the cd i have.- LightWolf

Okay well, i dont know who made this hard drive as its a older one, and i dont have a cd burner so that wont help. And for the gentlemen that asked about choosing "Y" once into fdisk, well i will say this 1 more time for all to see "I can't get into fdisk" It allows me to go to the first stage...- LightWolf

As i said above, it wont allow me to Fdisk it. If i could get into fdisk and partition i wouldnt be having this problem..lol- LightWolf

I am using win98se and have partioned and formatted many times, yet now i have 2 drives doing the same thing. I formated and all went well, i went to fdisk and it goes to the first option, asking if i want to allow space allotment for a large drive, since i have a small drive on (under 2 gigs)...- LightWolf
