I am a very beginner Excel user and I need to print an excel 2003 worksheet in multi-column layout, similar to a traditional newspaper column. It has 1544 records of 3 columns "Code" "Qty" and "Desc" and I would like it to print like a newspaper column so that it will print multi-column layout...
I figured out what the issue was with Question #1 - I didn't have Microsoft Query installed. My pc was recently redone and apparently MS Query didn't get reinstalled. So got that handled. But still need to know answer to Ques#2 about eliminating names of employees that are not included in...
This is a 2 question thread in regard to Excel PivotTables:
Question #1:
I have an Excel pivot table with an external datasource -an access 2003 table. Just a month ago I went in and made a change to the SQL Statement within Excel from the Microsoft Query screen. The pivot table has been...
Thanks PH for the VERY prompt reply. Well, I tried the code you supplied and didn't get the message noted above, but it took forever to run (appears to be hung up) and finally returned zero records and I know there should be 1678 returned. In trying to do some troubleshooting, I changed the...
I want to delete inventory records that have no qty in stock and no qty on backorder and are not present in 4 other tables (Sales Orders, Invoices, Quotes & PO's)- basically unused inventory item recs. This is the delete qry I'm trying to use, but get the error "Could not delete from specified...
This may sound elementary, but I have a simple question. I have access03. When a form or subform 'Locked' property is set to Yes, does it also prevent deleting records or do I need to address that separately?

Using A2003 and trying to run this update qry, but get 'Operation must use updateable query'. I know there is a way to not use a join, but not sure how. Any suggestions?

The code you posted earlier probably works like a charm. However I am inexperienced in Excel and don't have a clue what the code would be to determine the last row in my pivot table. OR, it just dawned on me, is LastRow a property that can be referenced just as your code shows?

It is always the bottom 16 ROWS. These rows contain financial stats that they don't always want to show on the printout to distribute, but may want to review it or print for key authorized personnel. So I do need to be able to show or not show the entire row of data (16 rows).

I have a pivot table with 16 rows at the bottom containing financial info that the user can Hide or Unhide (using buttons). The problem is, when these rows are hidden, as the user pulls page flds down into the column area, it bumps down the bottom rows that should always be visible into the...
In Access 2003, the ODBC refresh interval is set at 1500 (sec) - that is 25 minutes. That seems high to me, but I am not an expert. What are the implications of changing to a lower setting? My situation is a network shared backend mdb with a local front end mde.

OK, I finally figured it out. The spreadsheet tabs were in reverse order (Sheet 2 / Sheet 1) so I dragged the tab for sheet one over and hooray - it works again. I don't have much Excel experience and have no idea how that happened. Anyhow it's working!

I see what's happening - the value I'm passing is getting to sheet 2 somehow. correct cell, wrong sheet. If I delete sheet 2, then it works - if I add sheet 2 then the info is passed to the correct cell, but wrong sheet. Sheet 1 (as shown on bottom tab) is the one it's supposed to go to. Am I...
