RAM not properly recognized on Compac
when you say it will not restart does the pc boot but no output to the monitor? I'm only asking as I have had a few problems with memory recently. Thanks for your help- lawrenzo

pc starts but no output to the monitor
Here's the story, My hard drive became faulty so I replace it, on reboot my bios showed that I had lost 128 mb of memory - I removed 1 128mb memory dimm from the slot and my system would start but no output to the display.
