HOW ID SOURCE OF INTERNAL DIAL-UP IN XP?
This is a computer I cobbled together three years ago. Very fast tand plenty of bells and windows. My Norton Systems works and ZA are purchsed installs. The live data is very timely. I will look into housecall. Thanks for the replies. -L Bay- LABAY

I did install and run Adaware and Spybot 1.4 Altho both found some bad stuff , esp spybot with several tracking cookies, I eliminated all the bad stuff found but the problem persists. Setting it to "never dial a connection" will eliminate the problem but is inconvenient for my normal use. When...- LABAY

Yes. I have several scans which I run. From Norton and ZA. Nothing there. And the virus and anti-spy data is up-to-date. Another thing I've done which reveals nothing is to search specifying files of today's date immediately after aloowing the dial-up and d/l to end. No files with that date...- LABAY

HOW ID SOURCE OF INTERNAL DIAL-UP IN XP?
My Dial-up window pops up frequently. Some program in my XP PC is causing it. I have Zonelarm Pro, Norton SystemWorks. Can't find anything there to ID the source? If I click to connect, it dials up my ISP and then I receive up to 75kb of data. Is there some way to ID it? -LBay- LABAY

Mystery Dial-up Window Appears
Recently, in XP, a dial-up window appears in the middle of whatever I'm doing. Every 10 minutes or so. If I cancel, it reappears later. If I dial-up, I receive approx 20kb of data and then nothing. How can I tell what in my PC is doing this? I get Server and Client IP addresses in the...- LABAY

Thanks for the info. I'm about to add a slave HD and may do just what you said. My reason for all of this is to use an Autocad feature I really liked: Calculating the area of odd shapes. I tried VISIO and it is terrible for that. If I could find another program to do that, I'd go for it...- LABAY
