Hi All,
We found that the error is in the contents of the include_list files. Seems that there are trailing spaces in the entry and that was the problem. This case was resolved when the trailing spaces were removed.
Thanks.

Hi All,
Can the include_list be a soft-link to a file containing the filenames of files to be backed up?
For e.g.
cd /usr/openv/netbackup/
ls -al include_list.Backup_Class
include_list.Backup_Class -> ./oracle/include_orafiles.lis
We recently observed that the files backed up are not the...
Hi PGPhantom,
We managed to resolve the problem. Seems that you need to create the backup policy first on the master server before you can actually specify the include and/or exclude list on the client side through the client's NetBackup GUI.
Thanks all for the help rendered...

We are using the administrator account. The master server is a Sun Solaris 8 while the client is a Win2K.

However, when we attempt to backup specific directories we always end up with status 71. We confirmed that these directories exists by listing the...

Thanks Chris,
I greatly appreciate your response. I can telnet to port 13782 and do get a prompt as well but I initiate the backup from the server, I can see "Connecting to...
Hi PGPhantom,
We have tried on both server and client and both responded successfully. We also used the HOSTS on both machines and have taken care of the upper/lowercase. We actually asked two vendors and both were not much of help.

The steps that you gave us was the first thing we did when we encountered the error. The results showed that all is fine. However, the status 54 keeps on appearing when we attempted to run the backup.
Is there any other thing other, than what has been discussed, that can...
