    cisco 2514 and cable modem

    Firstly, check the duplex settings on the C2514...you probably have it set for 10M Full duplex...make sure the settings on the C2514 & your switch match. - From the description of your problem , it looks like a duplex mismatch that needs to be corrected on your switch.
