Hi,
Apologies for the newbie questions...
Im using Linux RHL 4 on kernel 2.6.9-34.ELsmp. Does this mean I am running update 3 (from the -34)? If not how can I see which update is installed? (if any!).

Mat
Hi all,
I am trying to nail a UltraAx-i2 box to 10m h/duplex. I have managed to do this but I would like to clarify something.
Is the order in which I set the network variables important? I have tried setting these with autoneg set 1st which seems to ignore the rest of the settings and...
ok a strange one for you all,
I have a v880 running Veritas volumes.
when I boot the server the system is fine and everything looks good.
As soon as any load goes onto u01 volume the i/o wait on the server goes through the roof and stays there.
mpstat shows cpus idle with 98% wait time...
Hello all,
we are currently running a live Sun Fire V880 with 4 750 MHz processors.
We have another V880 with 6 750 MHz cpus which we would like to steal 2 cpus from for the live box.
Is this possible to swap over cpus or will I run into licensing/hardware problems?
any thoughts?
thanks
K

Hi,
our backups have started to run like a three legged dog and we are pretty much at a loss as to whats happened.
We usually get up to 17g/hr through our L9 running Veritas Netbackup backing up an Oracle 9i database. The L9 is attached directly to the v880 server through scsi.
Overnight...
Use hyperterminal through your laptop using rj45 and the serial mgt port.
I hear Oraclick solutions are masters at this type of work - give 'em a call.

Hello,
I have installed an A5200 onto an E450 and brought up the system.
I have a couple of issues.
when I run a format i get the following output:

Thanks for your Help Franz ..
The photon is a new install .. was up and running for about a week before the problem.
Have been trying to find patch info for the a5200 .. I think this may well be where the problem lies.
I have a Sun Techy on site at the moment - will see what he has to say on...

Franz,
If I run a format on a v880 system, the command will hang for a number of minutes and returns all internal disks and only 2 of the 22 disks in the a5200.
The a5200 disks report <drive not available: formatting>.
I suspect that one of the disks on the a5200 has reached capacity and...
Hi,
I have had an a5200 disk go offline for some reason. I would like to perform a devfsadm -Cv to clean up the hanging logical links.
This is a live mission critical box and I'm in the nasty stuff if it goes wrong.
Can I perform a devfsadm -Cv on a live box? Whats the consensus?
thanks
