...this is what a postcript ends up doing anyway, any vector elements below transparency will get rendered to pixels, the same is true for indesign or quark to postcript or exported to 1.3 pdf... ...this also explaind the golden rule of keeping vector on top layers as much as possible...- Kosmac

PDF problem
I don't think there is a Corel issue, because PDF works in CS2 suite. Corel PDF creates drop shadow as a rectangle with pattern fill. CS2 suite places this fill in correct position, but CS3 shifts it. I can't make 1.3 PDF file, because COREL makes catastrophic flattening. (it rasteries...- Kosmac

PDF problem
