Have a look at a program called SecureCopy. We are migrating data at present and have found it so easy it's not funny. It does user data, all permissions and shares also. It is making a hard job easy.

I believe that you need to have a lin in the users login script to create the drive mapping for them. Try this one:-
echo Linking Drive H: to users home directory
NET USE H: /HOME
The drive can be any you choose.
