Actually I have been playing around with the Save As box and the My Places bar is a place where I can add the folder I want. It still defaults to my docs but now it is simple extra click where as before it was a lot of clicks.
I am seeing that if it is a brand new doc it defaults the "save as" to the location I want but if it is a doc that comes through in an email as an attachment or has been saved in an outlook file - those won't default. Oh well - thanks for your help.
