we are trying to get faxes coming through the CS1000 (rel 6.0) and route to a Fax server via SIP.
We have setup the trunks, etc and everything is working fine outbound (from server through CS1000). Incoming faxes are processed and routed to the Fax server who then sits on them and marks as...
Did not appreciate that - thanks for the learning point.
Do you therefore know if there is any way to change the call log indication to 'off' on the system in readiness for us upgrading to rls6.0, failing that it will mean visiting and configuring on every handset (not really an option), so...
we are currently on rls 4.5, during an aborted Rls 6.0 upgrade we noticed that all phones were enabled with call log indication turned on.
As part of the rls 4.5 operation call log indication was turned off, handset setting. I am therefore assuming that call log indication with rls 6.0 resides...
thanks for the prompt and precise response - that is exactly the issue.
We tried flattening the cards and servers and rebuilding from scratch but got the same issue - possibly the rebuild kept some inherent config from the previous install.
Will see if we can find any way to reset the secret...
Hello,
Over the weekend we attempted to upgrade from Rls4.5 to Rls 6.0
The system was built in a test chassis, verified, then the components were moved to the Live chassis where the replacement cards and new sig servers were installed, etc...
Once everything was up and running it was noticed...
Hello,
We are tyring to secure all network ports using 802.1x (EAPoL) - the configuration works for the component parts in that we can authenticate the phone (eap-md5), authenticate a PC (with CA digital cert) and a non-domain PC gets connected to the GuestVLAN - but we cannot get all parts...
thanks for the info - having tried this several times, I must be doing something wrong as the firmware still gets downgraded when the phone connects to the sig server. No matter what commands i try the policy still shows as Upgrade ANY - I will rethink what we are trying to acheive...
Thanks...
...then we wouldn't need to use TFTP - missing the point. The whole issue for us is to be able to control firmware allocations on a subnet basis (instead of when a phone resets..) TFTP makes it more manageable.
Like gwebster states - if we knew how to change the sig server policy to upload if...
Hello,
We are currently testing the download of IP phone (1100 series) configurations, etc - all is going well and we are comfortable with the processes, etc.
We have since tried to update the phone firmware using the TFTP server instead of the sig server distribution - again all is going...
when using RLogin use CPSID (minimum required) as the username after connecting to the host - this will connect you to the switch where you can then login using the switch logins and passwords...
There are various posts which explain the CPSID options, basic switches to display console...
we had a similar issue with the 2033 IP Conference phones in that when entering the audio meeting number and password (after the call is connected) sometimes it would connect and sometimes it wouldn't (invalid meeting ID, etc).
What we eventually had to do to get some reliability was to change...
dehlert : ask Nortel about their upgrade programs?
The bulk of the IP system install cost is down to licensing. Last year we replaced an 81c with CS1000E and Nortel upgraded (swapped) the TDM licenses for IP licenses - for a nominal fee.
If your Nortel Acct Mgr is made aware he will lose the...
yep - my only issue now is there are only 3 email fields available and if we have SMTP email, business phone address, mobile phone address, there are is no address space available for fax or any other number...!!!!
Ah well - need to play within the limitations.....
Thanks again
