ok then, it is not a scheduled job. i deleted the job definition and everything and yet.... Sunday it ran anyway! from where, i have no idea. this is my dilema. no job definition in BE at all for this job and still it happens. completely bewildering!!!

I do have that on and I even scheduled a job to run just to see if it would show up, which it did. I am very much at a loss on this one. Do you know anything about Microsoft Exchange Server? If so, do you think it could be something in there that is triggering the backup?

Yes, exactly. There are nothing to show a backup is scheduled under the activity tab. Normally, if something is scheduled to run, it will show what and when. This shows nothing there. It just runs! The other thing it might be is something in the exchange server itself. I have been doing research...
