ShackDaddy,
Thank you,
That is pretty much what I have come up with, but really wanted to hear some others say the same thing making sure I didn't overlook anything. I just wanted to make sure with my testing using the IP for everything, it wasn't still working just because there was that MX...
I currently have six MX records registered with the ISP for my company.com and the actual names of our mail severs, west.company.com and east.company.com. Right now we use a third party spam filtering company (POSTINI) that has our first four MX records pointing to them. The problem is, spammers...
The outlook clients that are configured to use SMTP/POP just use the server to pull their mail down to and send out. Their mail resides in the .PST file local on their sytem.
The outlook client that use Exchange are set up directly with the server and all of that stuff syncronizes correctly...
I have clients that use Oulook 2003 configured with SMTP/POP. If they go into OWA and send mail or delete mail, those two folders don't sync with their outlook client. Only items in the inbox get pulled down. How can I get every folder in OWA to puts push its contents down to the client...
Thanks for everyone that tried to help. Unfortunately I work with monkeys and with us being spread out, what page we are all on sometimes doesn't get passed to everyone. I was told by the head guy that we are not controlling windows firewall with group policy. Hey, when you are told by the...
That is just one of the problems. It isn't turned on by GP and I can't turn it off. I am an admin and still can't turn it off. I can't even log in with a local admin account to the local system to turn it off.
By accessing the machines, I mean by going into network places (seeing all...
Elmurado,
Right now we are not specifically controlling xp firewall with group policy. It says it is being controlled, so I imagine it is an automatic thing once xp sp2 is installed. But yes, print sharing is enabled as an exception on the firewall.
On a system that doesn't have xp sp2...
Okay, not exactly sure where this question should be posted, so if you think it might get a better response somewhere else, please let me know.
I have a branch office in Florida with a windows 2000 DC running DNS/WINS/DHCP. The office is connected to my other offices via an IPSEC tunnel...
I have exchange 2003 on windows 2000 server. On another W2K server DC, I open up ADC users/computers and create a new user. Name, password, box checked for make a mailbox and all the setting are correct> Finish button. Account is made, but when I go into the properties of the new user account...
Okay,
I think I figured it out. I just didn't want to load items I didn't need or most importantly, cause problems.
You have three choices, typical, minimal, cutom. I selected custom and then was able to only install the system manager tools.
Hopefully this takes care of it, who knows, I...
I have a new DC that I am trying to get set up like my old one. When I go into AD on server1, I see the exchange 2003 tabs in the user profiles. When I create a new account with that server, I also get the option of creating a mailbox at the same time. On server2 I just get the basic AD with...
I have an exchange 5.5 server that all my internal people are configured to use the exchange server, so they see the global address list. I would like to be able to export the GAL to a file that I could e-mail our off site users that are configured to use POP3/SMTP. They could then import the...
Using outlook, I have created a rule that says, any mail from joe@somewhere.com and jim@thatplace.com should be forwarded to my AT&T cell phone address. We have an exchange 5.5 server.
I can send mail directly to the AT&T cell phone address, but I cannot get mail forwarded to the address...
